The
Fishing at Lac La Martre
This lake contains bountiful Northern Pike, Lake Trout, and Arctic Grayling. While we get more pike fishermen in the early season and more trout fishermen in the latter portion of the season, for each of the 8 weeks that we are open, you'll have a great chance at a twenty-pound fish of either species.
Our 20-20 club is filled with fishermen who have both! Our leader-board tracking of fish proves that throughout the season there are many fish caught that are over 25 pounds. Catching the
over 30-pounders is not uncommon.
NO FLY-OUTS NEEDED. All of the fish caught are from our lake. Because the lake is strictly catch and release, we ask that guests use barbless hooks and at least 30 pound test line.
Lake Trout are caught by either casting or trolling in the clear, open waters of
Lac La Martre. At its deepest, the lake is 65 feet and the majority of open water is less than 30 feet deep, eliminating the need for downriggers, etc.
Northern Pike are primarily caught in the bays by casting into the weeds or sometimes even sight casting for them.
Arctic Grayling is a day trip to the river on the south end of the lake.
